It’s extremely suffocating to be stuck with a problem. A problem that wouldn’t be understood if it was spoken about. It’s sad. It’s silent. And the only person you can talk to about it is miles away. But you still tell her anyway, cause she’s your mum and that’s what mums are for. To pour our troubles into their listening ear. And she offers to fly up and be with you and help you but you know….you know that deep deep down inside, you have to fight your own battles. Not because you are an adult. Not because you are living alone.

But because it’s your life and you’re the only one who can deal with it, even though there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it.

So yes. Very suffocating. And the hurt you hear in her voice when she knows she can’t do anything, just makes it all the more worse.

It can’t be a new year already. No resolutions, no promises, no changes. It’s bad enough adapting to a new change of date, we dun need more changes. To me, it just feels like another day. Of course, it’s only been 4 hours into the brand new year. I’m not sure I’m looking forward to anything this year. The less there is to look forward to, the lower the chances of being disappointed. A dry pessimist? Perhaps. Keep doing what makes you happy, at the expense of nobody (of coz). Eat ice cream if it makes you happy. Or buy pay-per-view. Whatever it is, make no room for regrets. It’s too shit of a life to regret anything. Happy New Year, folks. Make it your year.

Creating Momentary Happiness

Why am I craving for the one thing I know will destroy me? Ok, maybe destroy is too strong of a word. Let’s sub that with ‘disappoint’ instead. The one thing that I want will eventually disappoint me. But then the word, ‘disappoint’, fails to capture the impending doom I know I’m setting myself up for.

Maybe it’s human nature to want the one thing you can’t have. But in this case, it’s not that I can’t have it….It’s more like I know it wouldn’t work out. But then I want it. Maybe this is what stupidity is. It’s when you’ve seen a ‘what if’ of your life acting out before you and you still choose to stubbornly ignore it.

Or maybe you see it as a challenge. Maybe there’s some magical way you can change the order of things and escape the ugliness you’ve see happen in front of your own eyes.

Or maybe you’re just stupid and you want it badly, knowing very well you’d be happier without it in the long run.

Christmas miracle, work your magic now, please. Ugh…..Oh well, que sera sera, eh?
